A 40-year veteran comics publisher, Lim Li Kok of Asiapac Books, and newcomer Felicia Low of Difference Engine share their vision of reaching out to children through comics with moderator Priti Sharma of Epigram Books, who has also just ventured into publishing comics for children.

Lim Li Kok
Lim Li Kok is the founder of Asiapac Books, an independent Singapore publisher known for its educational comic books and illustrated books on Asian subjects. Established in 1983, its publications are now sold in more than 20 countries and have been translated into more than 20 languages. Lim’s love of books once led her to have operated a bookshop from 1976 to 1987.

Felicia Low
Felicia has worked in bookselling and publishing for over a decade. She is one half of the writing team behind the best-selling Sherlock Sam series of children’s books, and is the Publisher at Difference Engine, an independent comics publishing house. Her short story Tiger Girls is being adapted into a young adult webcomic.

Priti Sharma (Moderator)
Priti Sharma is the Managing Editor at Epigram Books. She also edits picture books, early readers and middle-grade novels. She has more than 21 years of experience teaching and developing language and literary courses at the tertiary level. Her areas of focus have been children’s literature and postcolonial literature.
