How to draw a 1-page diary comic based on your own life

Sat 21 June – 3.30PM
CAMPUS 2 LEVEL 3, #3-07

Do you remember what you ate 1 week ago? Or a conversation you had last week? Probably not. In this 2 hr comics workshop you will learn to capture recent events from your own everyday life in a simple 1-page comic. If you feel your drawing skills aren’t great, not to worry as you will be shown how to draw in a very simple art style. We will cover some basic but essential comic principles and guided in creating a dairy comic that you will find meaningful when you look back on it years later. Materials will be provided. See you there!


sPEAKERS & MODERATOR

Andrew Tan

Andrew Tan (aka Drewscape) is a freelance illustrator and an Eisner-nominated comic artist based in Singapore. His illustrations can be found in the Sherlock Sam book series as well as in magazines, print ads and picture books. He is the author of two graphic novels: Monsters Miracles and Mayonnaise and The Ollie Comics: Diary of a first-time dad. Andrew has been an illustrator since 2004 and was formerly an advertising art director at DDB Worldwide and J. Walter Thompson.
