A

Abhi Krish

Abhi is a bilingual children’s author whose stories spark curiosity around Tamil as a language, culture and people. She writes both fiction and non-fiction, from picture books for young readers to graphic novels for teens. Her books have been praised for their heartwarming stories, diverse characters, and feel-good takeaways. In addition to writing, Abhi is also a multi-disciplinary storyteller. She combines music, movement, drama and puppetry to bring alive the worlds of her books. She is a strong advocate for literacy through literature, and provides free support and resources via her initiative, Nool Monsters. Abhi’s life before writing revolved around design and creative management, tools that continue to aid her approach to visual storytelling. Calling Singapore home, she is a proud mother to an adorable sheepdog and his three jealous human siblings.

Alan John

Alan John is a journalist, writer and editorial trainer. Alan has written three picture books, all illustrated by Quek Hong Shin. Their most recent book, Grandma’s Tiger, won the Best Picture Book award at the Singapore Book Awards 2023 and was also included in The White Ravens 2023 recommendation list by the International Youth Library. Like their earlier books, The One and Only Inuka and Ubin Elephant, Grandma’s Tiger is based on true events and features an animal that made headlines in Singapore.

Andrew Tan

Andrew Tan (aka Drewscape) is a freelance illustrator and an Eisner-nominated comic artist based in Singapore. He is the author of two graphic novels: Monsters, Miracles & Mayonnaise and The Ollie Comics: Diary of a first-time dad. He is also the illustrator for the Sherlock Sam series. A 3D artist by profession, he has a background in Multimedia Technology & Design and a passion for palaeontology, with a personal collection of over 600 fossils. Boris Tsui

Boris has worked with clients around the world to bring their projects and ideas to life. He has done projects ranging from personal commissions to card game art.

Boris prefers to work in the science fiction and fantasy genres but with an eye toward painting his works realistically. His field expertise has earned him recognition from secondary schools and institutes to engage him for CCA art workshops and thus, ongoing involvement to aid students generate quality portfolios for future tertiary interviews or showcasing their skills proficiency to sell their works.

Andy Chua is the award-nominated author of the Fossil Finders children’s book series, published by Bubbly Books. Lee Ching started writing children’s stories four years ago. Writing children’s stories has been her long-time aspiration. Preoccupied with her career as a marketing and brand communications professional, she couldn’t find the time to pursue this dream until COVID-19 hit us!

Chloe Chang

CHLOE CHANG is an award winning illustrator based in the sunny island city of Singapore, where she spends her time reading, drawing, and applying sunblock lotion.She received her first art commission at the age of nine (she was paid in country erasers), and a decade later she graduated from Nanyang Technological University with a degree in Digital Animation.

Chloe has since worked in both television and print media as an illustrator and character designer. She was awarded the inaugural Illustrator of the Year in 2024, and also won the Crystal Kite award in the same year for her work in Windows to the World.

Colin Goh

Colin Goh is an award-winning filmmaker, illustrator, writer, and multimedia producer. He is also an attorney with qualifications in New York, England and Singapore. He is the writer and illustrator behind DIM SUM WARRIORS, a Mandarin/English bilingual iPad app and graphic novel series about kung fu-fighting dumplings that Fast Company named one of the Top 10 Coolest Original Digital Comics and which won an Honorable Mention in Publishers Weekly’s Critics’ Poll of the Best Graphic Novels of 2012. In August 2017, he adapted Dim Sum Warriors into a stage musical that played to full houses in Shanghai’s prestigious Theatre Above.

Colin is also a screenwriter and movie director whose multiple award-winning feature film, SINGAPORE DREAMING, has been screened at numerous festivals worldwide. In Singapore, he is perhaps best known for founding the satirical website TalkingCock.com and authoring the bestselling Coxford Singlish Dictionary.

Darel Seow

Darel is a visual storyteller, educator and designer who illustrates the tales of the natural world through his unique brand of wry wit and whimsy. He believes in the draw of storytelling as a means of engagement, creating experiences that simultaneously excite and educate. Fascinated by the narratives in nature and culture, he enjoys working with partners worldwide like the British Museum, Singapore Botanic Gardens, Ikea and Google to explore learning through the power of storytelling, imagination and play. His works span public art, interactive experiences and of course picture books, which tell and re-tell uniquely Singaporean stories.

David Liew

David Liew Illustrated best-selling Eliza Teoh’s “Ellie Belly” series as well as Melanie Lee’s “Squirky the Alien” series. He partnered Hwee Goh for The Change Makers STEM series as well as with Pippa Chorley for the Eye Spy series. He is the Regional Advisor to the Singapore chapter of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.
When he’s not illustrating children’s books, David is also a sculptor and model-maker. HIs work has been used in television and advertising.

Edmund Lim

Edmund Lim is an award-winning author. In addition to academic works, he has written books on the first three presidents of Singapore and on Jacob Ballas, a Singaporean Jewish philanthropist of whom the Jacob Ballas Children’s Garden was named after. Edmund also contributed opinion editorials to The Straits Times, commentaries to The Diplomat, South China Morning Post and Today online. He served as a district councillor with Central Singapore CDC and a community leader, as well as a volunteer with Jesuit Refugee Service and Singapore International Foundation.

Eliza Teoh

Eliza Teoh, a former journalist and news editor, is the author of the national bestselling Ellie Belly series. She is also the founder of Bubbly Books, a children’s book publishing company dedicated to creating books that children love to read. She is passionate about inculcating a love for reading and writing in children and has been a facilitator for the GEP’s Creative Writing Programme over the last 10 years. She is also an animal rights advocate and aerial sports enthusiast.

Elodie Kyra

Elodie Kyra is a multidisciplinary artist currently based in Toronto. She is a Contemporary dancer and author of bestselling series, The Rage Trilogy.

After her publishing her last book in 2021, she moved abroad to Canada to further her dance studies. She graduated from Dance Arts Institute (formerly The School of Toronto Dance Theatre) in 2024 and is also a postgraduate in Arts Management.

Now, Elodie is working in Artistic Production with Anandam Dancetheatre while developing her own artistic practice by intertwining creative writing, long-form writing and movement.

Emily Lim-Leh is a multi-award-winning author of 50 children’s books. She is a 3-time winner of the IPPY Awards, and 3-time winner of the Moonbeam Children’s Book Awards. She was named Mediacorp’s Singapore Woman Award Honoree for inspiring readers through her books and finding her voice in writing following a challenging journey with a rare voice disorder. To top it all off, she is also a recipient of the Public Service Medal (Covid-19) for her informational e-picture books for the community. Little Hero, her new junior historical fiction book, is inspired by difficult real-life events in the lives of the author’s family.

Far’ain Jaafar is an educator, and a published children’s book author. She is dedicated to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in her work and publications. Her areas of advocacy revolve around children, women, youth, and families.

Hwee Goh

Hwee Goh was classically trained at the Northwestern University Medill School of Journalism, and was a TV journalist and Editor at Channel NewsAsia, before extending her writing to children’s books. Hwee is known on the #bookstagram circuit and regularly interviews international bestselling authors on tour through Singapore. She works at The Media Consultants Singapore, lending her media and editorial skills to c-suite clients and leaders.

Janice Khoo

Janice Khoo is the co-author of Sing a Song of Hawker Food, a playful collection of nursery rhymes celebrating Singapore’s hawker culture. Co-written with Lianne Ong, the book was supported by the National Heritage Board and won Second Prize in the 2022 POPULAR Reader’s Choice Awards (Children’s English category). In 2024, Janice released two picture books: Shelby and Mona, a heartwarming story of friendship, and The Emperor’s Gazillion New Toys, an eco-themed fractured fairytale co-written with Ong and supported by the SG Eco Fund.

JH Low

J.H. Low is an award-winning picture-book maker whose books have been published in English, Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese. He holds a BA (Honours) in Fine Arts, an MA in Children’s Books Illustration, and a PhD in Art. His picture-book career started with the book There is No Steak Buried Here, which received Honourable Mention for the McMillan Prize in 2009. His latest publications include Mr Goodchild (2021), The Visitor (2022), and Orang & Hutan (2023).

Josef Lee

Josef Lee tells stories through pictures. As a picture-book author & artist, his illustrated short stories have been shared online since 2008. Joyce Chng

Joyce Chng lives in Singapore. They write science fiction and fantasy, as well as YA and MG. Their short stories have appeared in The Apex Book of World SF II, The Future Fire and Multispecies Cities. Dragon Dancer (Lantana Publishing) was Joyce’s first picture-book, celebrating dragon dancing and Lunar New Year, followed by Oyster Girl (Pepper Dog Press), a tribute to their grandmother and the hawker heritage in Singapore. Kaoru

Kaoru began her career as a solo comic artist, publishing a variety of romantic stories that quickly gained attention for their ornate, Japanese manga-influenced art style. Her early works not only attracted a loyal readership but also received critical acclaim—Maid Maiden won the Best Romantic Comic Award at the Malaysian Mandarin Comic Society Awards in 2009, and Love Drama won the Best Action/Romantic Comic Award in 2013.

That same year, she transitioned into the role of scriptwriter and team leader, overseeing a dedicated creative team under the name Candy Factory. Kayce Teo

Kayce Teo publishes under the pen name Leslie W. Born and bred in Singapore, she graduated with a BA in English Literature from the National University of Singapore. In 2014, she applied for the Mentor Access Project, an annual programme initiated by the National Arts Council, Singapore, that develops young and emerging writers in Singapore’s four official languages. She was one of six mentees selected for the Fiction category.

Her debut fantasy novel, The Night of Legends, was written under the mentorship of award-winning writer, Dave Chua, and was published by Penguin Books SEA. The Light of Stars is the thrilling sequel to The Night of Legends trilogy. The Dawn of Reckoning, the final book in the three-part series, is slated for publication soon.

Low Ying Ping is the author of two middle-grade fantasy series, Mount Emily and Prophecy of the Underworld. Ng Yi-Sheng is a writer, researcher and activist with a keen interest in the forgotten histories of Singapore and Southeast Asia. Norlin Samat is an ex-primary school teacher with a Post-graduate Diploma in Education and an MA in Language Studies. She is a passionate educator with a career spanning more than 18 years as a teacher and an administrator in public and private education institutions.

Norlin is proud to be from a place where being bilingual is the norm. Quek Hong Shin

Quek Hong Shin is a Singaporean freelance author and illustrator whose works include picture books like The Amazing Sarong, The Brilliant Oil Lamp, and Chou Chou. Raudhah Binte Alias

Cikgu Raudhah is a dedicated Senior Lead Teacher and advocate for Malay language and literacy, known for her excellence and innovation in early childhood education. She received the Achievement Award in 2018 and the Outstanding Mother Tongue Award in 2019. Her articles on engagement and technology in learning were also published in MTL Magazine that year.

In 2021, she authored Feri Menjaga Kelestarian Laut and conducted storytelling sessions in schools and libraries, including on Pustaka Nasional TV. A sought-after speaker, she has presented on topics like mental wellness, technology in learning, and literature at the Singapore Art Festival. In 2023, she received the Teaching Innovation Award and the Anugerah Persuratan Sastera Kanak-kanak, launched her second book Kayan Perlu Bantuan, and spoke at the KelasMateMatika Retreat. Most recently, she published her third book, Kotak Misteri, with Alam Cahaya.

Rocky Leaw

Mr. Rocky is a talented digital illustrator based in Singapore, known for his diverse portfolio and work with notable clients like LEGO. He joined Ink Fusion in 2023, where he contributes as an art trainer, content creator, and illustrator. His roles include helping clients with comic creation, hosting live caricature events, and designing in-house series like the “Infinite Workbooks.” He also gave career talks in schools through Wacom Singapore’s distributor. A graduate of The One Academy, Mr. Rocky is admired for his skill, professionalism, and humble nature, making him a valued member of the team.

Shawn Seah

Shawn Seah wrote the non-fiction children’s book series, Our Amazing Heroes (2025) and Our Amazing Pioneers (2023). He also wrote several other non-fiction books for the general public, including Seah Eu Chin: His Life and Times; Leader and Legislator: Seah Liang Seah; and My Father’s Kampung: A History of Aukang and Punggol. Shawn has been part of several editions of the Singapore Heritage Festival and Baba-Nyonya Literary Festival, as well as the Asian Festival for Children’s Content 2025. He was also awarded the National University of Singapore’s Outstanding Young Alumni Award for his contributions to historical storytelling.

Siti Nur Hikmatul Qadriah Binte Arifin

Cikgu Hikma has been dedicated to early childhood education since 2017, with a strong passion for nurturing young minds. Since 2021, she has served as a bilingual teacher, effectively teaching in both English and Malay. Cikgu Hikma believes that every child is unique, and it is her responsibility to support each one according to their individual needs. With this philosophy, she strives to create a supportive and engaging learning environment that helps children grow confidently and develop a lifelong love for learning.

Siti Nur Mustiqah Binte Mohamed Mustafah

Cikgu Siti is a dedicated Senior Educarer with a background in bilingual education, having taught Malay since 2015. With over 10 years of experience, she also currently serves as a Malay virtual teacher for five centres. Her teaching philosophy centers on the belief that meaningful interactions are key to early childhood education. She is a trained in the Abecedarian Approach and was selected as a piloting centre educator. In recognition of her excellence, she was awarded the Promising Teacher award in early childhood education. Driven by her belief that children are not only our future but also our present—they carry the dreams we dare to dream and the values we choose to pass on.

Tan Ter Cheah

Tan Ter Cheah was a Humanities scholar at pre-university and later studied law at NUS. She obtained her professional accountancy qualification while working full-time in the law division of a government body. She has practised as a tax lawyer and also worked on tax advisory matters in one of the Big Four accounting firms.

Ter Cheah lost her right leg to synovial sarcoma at age six and her first book, ONE, is loosely based on her recollections. It was nominated for Best Young Adults’ Title in the 2016 Singapore Book Awards.

She is now happily married with two children and remains in the area of tax, working part-time. She spends a lot of time at playgrounds, enjoying watching her children on the monkey bars and admiring the birds that hang off mango trees.

Valerie Pereira

Valerie Pereira is the author of the Celebrations in Singapore series published by Epigram Books. She also wrote the picture book “Go Shanti Go” with her sisters that encourages readers to dream big. Her passion for writing stories was ignited by her desire to preserve special moments in time through picture books.

Vivian Teo

Vivian Teo is the author of middle-grade book series, My BFF Is an Alien, published by Epigram Books. Books in her series have been shortlisted in the Hedwig Anuar Children’s Book Award, Singapore Book Awards and POPULAR Readers’ Choice Awards. The series’ first book won third place in the latter’s English (Children) category in 2020.
